Applications Now Open: Through Her Eyes Mentorship Program

2025-2026 Program Cycle

 

The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Greater Cleveland Chapter invites African American high school young women in grades 9–12 to apply for Through Her Eyes, a structured mentorship program designed to support participants during a critical stage of their academic and personal development. The program offers consistent mentorship, leadership development, and skill-building opportunities intended to help students strengthen confidence, clarify goals, and prepare for future success.

What is Through Her Eyes?

Through Her Eyes is a mentorship program that supports African American high school young women through intentional mentoring, life skills development, self-confidence building, and exploration of college and career pathways. Participants engage with professional women who provide guidance, share lived experience, and help students navigate academic, personal, and leadership challenges.

The program is designed to encourage reflection, goal-setting, and accountability while helping participants develop the skills and mindset necessary for success in school and beyond.

Program Details

Program Cycle: January 2026 through June 2026

Meeting Schedule:
Monthly Saturday sessions
(Some sessions will be held virtually via Zoom.)

First Session:
Saturday, January 24, 2026
10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Program Format:
The program includes in-person and virtual sessions, monthly mentor–mentee check-ins, and structured engagement throughout the program year.

Program Activities May Include:

  • Interactive workshops

  • Career shadowing opportunities

  • Field trips

  • Guest speakers

  • Hands-on learning and group activities

Cost:
There is no cost to participate in the program. Students who successfully remain in the program through graduation may be eligible for college and technical training scholarships.

Examples of Past Activities

Career Day: Inspiring the Next Generation of Leaders – Learn from professionals across various fields and explore career pathways

STEAM Activities: Hands-on learning experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics

Legislative Day: Engage with civic leadership and learn about advocacy and public policy

Who Can Apply?

Applications are open to African American female high school students in grades 9–12 who meet the following criteria:

  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher

  • Demonstrate a commitment to personal growth and development

  • Are able to actively participate in the mentorship program throughout the program year

  • Have the support and involvement of a parent or guardian
