On Saturday, November 4, 2023, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Greater Cleveland Chapter (NCBW) and the National Council of Negro Women, Inc., Cuyahoga County Section (NCNW) partnered for a community-centered Get Out the Vote (GOTV) event at Simon’s Supermarket in Cleveland’s Buckeye neighborhood.

The initiative encouraged residents to get informed, get registered, and get to the polls ahead of the November 7 General Election. Shoppers received resources on voter ID requirements, polling locations, ballot issues, early voting, and rideshare options to ensure access for all eligible voters.

The event featured nonpartisan information provided by partners including the League of Women Voters of Ohio and Signal Cleveland, helping community members stay up to date on ballot initiatives and local voting changes. Attendees also enjoyed light refreshments provided by The Vegan Doughnut Company, adding a welcoming touch to the day of civic engagement.

The effort concluded with a visit to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, reinforcing the message that participation in every election matters. Together, NCBW and NCNW continue to empower citizens through education, advocacy, and action—ensuring that every vote counts and every voice is heard. This event was part of our ongoing civic engagement series promoting informed participation throughout Greater Cleveland.
