The holiday season can often be a source of stress, but it also offers opportunities for joy and connection. On December 2, 2024, the Greater Cleveland Chapter’s Health Committee, in partnership with The Gathering Place and the University Hospitals Glenville Community Center, hosted a transformative workshop titled “Holiday Survival Toolkit.” This program equipped community participants with strategies to effectively navigate the challenges of the holiday blues.

Sydney Roberts, Community Program Manager of The Gathering Place, inspired attendees by sharing valuable insights on:

  • Understanding the holiday blues and their impact on mental health
  • Building a strong support network and fostering connections
  • Practicing self-care and mindfulness techniques
  • Accessing mental health resources and professional support
  • Developing coping strategies for stress and anxiety

Dionne Jones, Chapter President and Health Coach with Age with Vibrancy LLC, invigorated participants with a 10-minute exercise session designed to relieve the stress associated with movement.

Participants left the workshop with a toolkit that will help them manage the stressors of the holiday season.
