On May 28, 2025, members of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Greater Cleveland Chapter (NCBW-GCC) joined forces with the Central Ohio Chapter for the 2025 Ohio Legislative Day at Columbus City Hall.
Held under the theme “Policy in Real Life,” this annual advocacy day brought together NCBW members, civic leaders, and policymakers for a day of direct engagement with Ohio legislators. The focus: championing the voices of Black women and girls through public policy that promotes equity, education, health, and economic empowerment.
Throughout the day, participants discussed key legislative priorities, shared lived experiences, and emphasized the importance of intersectional policymaking that reflects the realities of the communities NCBW serves. The event also provided opportunities for networking, civic education, and strengthening partnerships between state representatives and advocates committed to advancing justice and equality.
By standing together in the halls of government, NCBW reaffirmed its mission to advocate, educate, and influence policy — ensuring that Black women remain visible, valued, and heard in every conversation that shapes Ohio’s future.
