On November 2, 2024, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Greater Cleveland Chapter (NCBW-GCC) partnered with the NCNW Cuyahoga County Section for a Get Out the Vote community outreach event at Simon’s Supermarket in Cleveland’s Buckeye neighborhood.
Led by the NCBW-GCC Public Policy Committee, the initiative focused on empowering residents to exercise their right to vote and understand key issues on the ballot ahead of Election Day. Members engaged with shoppers and neighbors on topics such as Issue 49 and Issue 1, sharing reliable, nonpartisan information to help voters make informed decisions at the polls.
Attendees also received free ride information courtesy of GCRTA, ensuring transportation was not a barrier to civic participation. The event featured educational materials and insights from Innovation Ohio about the potential policy impacts surrounding Project 2025 — reinforcing the importance of civic awareness beyond the ballot box.
As early voting came to a close, participants were reminded that every voice matters and every vote counts. The day concluded with a call to action encouraging community members to join local partners, including the Greater Cleveland NPHC, for Souls to the Polls — a final push to ensure strong voter turnout.
Through events like this, NCBW-GCC and NCNW continue to champion civic engagement, access, and education — ensuring that every voter not only shows up but shows up informed.
