On June 24, 2025, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Greater Cleveland Chapter (NCBW-GCC), through its Economic Empowerment Committee, hosted the concluding session of its four-part Homeownership Series in partnership with PNC Bank and the NID Housing Counseling Agency.

The virtual event, New Homeownership Final Facts, brought together first-time and soon-to-be homeowners for an engaging conversation led by Lydia Pope, President of NID Housing Counseling Agency. The session focused on practical guidance for maintaining homeownership, understanding credit, and navigating financial challenges that can arise after purchase.

Participants explored key topics such as post-purchase planning, budgeting for ongoing expenses, and how to realistically manage the financial responsibilities of homeownership during both stable and uncertain economic times. With eleven participants joining via Zoom, the discussion also highlighted the importance of long-term financial wellness and community-based support for sustaining homeownership.

Members Andrea Morris and Layisha Bailey, along with community guest David Zhou, contributed to the dialogue, reinforcing the collaborative effort behind NCBW-GCC’s year-long educational initiative.

By concluding the series with actionable insights and continued partnership opportunities, NCBW-GCC celebrated not only an educational milestone but also its ongoing mission to empower families through financial literacy, stability, and generational wealth-building.
