The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Greater Cleveland Chapter (NCBW-GCC) hosted its 34th Annual Women of Vision Awards and Scholarship Reception on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse in Beachwood, Ohio. The evening brought together community members, partners, and supporters to honor Black women whose leadership strengthens Greater Cleveland and uplifts the mission of NCBW.

Each year, the Women of Vision Awards recognize individuals whose work reflects NCBW’s commitment to advocating for Black women and girls through leadership development, economic empowerment, and civic engagement. This year’s celebration continued that tradition with power, intention, and a deep sense of gratitude for the women who continue to shape the future of our region.

Nicole McKinney-Johnson, CEO of the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, was honored as the 2025 Women of Vision Award recipient. Her leadership has played a pivotal role in expanding trauma-informed services, strengthening support systems for survivors, and advancing community-wide efforts to eliminate sexual violence. Throughout the evening, guests reflected on the impact of her work and the ways she continues to lead with clarity, compassion, and purpose.

The celebration also recognized Myesha Watkins as the 2025 She Leads 100 Honoree. Watkins, Founder of Counseling for the Culture and Creator of Healing with My Homegirls, has been a powerful force in expanding access to culturally responsive mental-health support for women of color. Her work centers healing, affirmation, and connection — creating spaces where women can process, grow, and reclaim their well-being. Guests acknowledged her dedication to community care and the innovative approaches she brings to mental-health advocacy, positioning her as a standout voice among the next generation of leaders.

The reception also served as a reminder of the collective effort required to support women and girls across Greater Cleveland. Proceeds from the event will fund NCBW-GCC programs, scholarships, and advocacy initiatives—ensuring continued access to opportunities that foster growth, leadership, and economic mobility. Guests enjoyed a program that celebrated achievement, reinforced community partnerships, and underscored the importance of supporting organizations dedicated to equity and empowerment. The energy in the room reflected a shared commitment to advancing the work of Black women leaders across all sectors. As the Chapter looks ahead, the Women of Vision Awards remain a defining moment each year to honor excellence while strengthening the foundation for future progress. The 34th Annual reception highlighted not just one woman’s leadership, but a broader movement toward building healthier, safer, and more empowered communities.

NCBW-GCC extends sincere gratitude to all attendees, sponsors, and supporters who made this year’s event meaningful and memorable. Your continued investment helps sustain the vital work of advocating for Black women and girls throughout Greater Cleveland.
