On June 21, 2025, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Greater Cleveland Chapter (NCBW-GCC) joined partners across the region at the Midtown Collaboration Center for Black Family Cancer Awareness Day, advancing a shared commitment to health equity and early detection in the Black community.
The event brought together families, healthcare providers, and community advocates for a full day of learning, connection, and proactive care. Attendees received access to free health screenings, including blood pressure and A1C checks, prostate and breast cancer screenings, and advance appointments for mammograms through the onsite Mammogram Mobile.
In addition to medical resources, participants engaged in men’s and women’s wellness discussions, fitness breaks led by local health partners, nutrition demonstrations, mental health conversations, and family-friendly activities. The event also honored the spirit of Juneteenth, with music, food trucks, local vendors, and community resource tables supporting holistic well-being.
NCBW-GCC’s participation reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening health awareness and addressing disparities that disproportionately affect Black families. By partnering with local medical institutions and community organizations, the chapter helped ensure that residents received tools, education, and support to take control of their health — today and for generations to come.
