On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, members of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Greater Cleveland Chapter (NCBW-GCC) joined chapters nationwide for the 2025 Virtual National Legislative Day, themed “Beyond Advocacy: Transforming Policy into Progress for Black Women and Girls.”
Hosted by the National Public Policy Committee, the event brought together legislators, national leaders, and policy advocates for a day of powerful discussion centered on advancing equity, justice, and opportunity for Black women and girls. Participants explored strategies to strengthen legislative advocacy and address issues such as voting rights, healthcare access, education, and economic justice.
Prominent speakers included Sharon Stone, NCBW National Second Vice President and Co-Chair of Public Policy; Nyisha Chapman, NCBW National Director and National Chair of Public Policy; and Marc H. Morial, President and CEO of the National Urban League. Their insights underscored how coordinated advocacy efforts can drive meaningful change at local, state, and national levels.
Seven members from the Greater Cleveland Chapter attended the national session, joining fellow NCBW members in reaffirming the organization’s mission: to lead, advocate, and empower Black women and girls through policy engagement and civic leadership.
Through shared dialogue and collaboration, the 2025 Virtual National Legislative Day served as a powerful reminder that advocacy is not just about raising awareness — it’s about transforming policy into lasting progress.
