On October 26, 2024, women across Greater Cleveland gathered in solidarity for 100 Sisters Stroll to the Polls, a community-wide initiative presented by the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Greater Cleveland Chapter (NCBW-GCC) Public Policy Committee in partnership with the Urban League of Greater Cleveland and several local organizations.

The event began at the Urban League headquarters on Prospect Avenue, where participants lined up at 10:45 a.m. before stepping off together toward the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections. Dressed in unity and purpose, the women represented sororities, civic groups, and advocacy organizations — all committed to advancing civic participation and ensuring that every voice was heard at the ballot box.

After casting their votes, participants joined a community phone bank to encourage others to exercise their right to vote early. The atmosphere was one of empowerment, sisterhood, and service — complete with refreshments, music, and an unwavering message: When women lead, communities rise.

Sponsored and supported by organizations including Higher Heights for America, the Ohio Unity Coalition, the NAACP, the Links, Incorporated, and NCNW Cleveland Section, the event underscored the shared mission to protect and strengthen democracy through voter education and collective action.

Through efforts like 100 Sisters Stroll to the Polls, NCBW-GCC continues to champion civic engagement, empowering women to lead by example and inspire others to participate in shaping their communities and futures.
